In these classes we are focusing primarily on those skills that are required in Church Needlework particularly embroidery for Communion Linens - Altar Cloths - Palls - Albs.

We have created the perfect coursework for the embroiderer to learn all that is necessary to accomplish and create beautiful results in this traditional form of hand embroidery.

The Church Needlework can be tailored for the beginner - intermediate - or advanced .embroiderer.

Group Classes or Private classes are available - we can recommend resort accommodations for groups or offer our private studio loft for a single student.

Basic Embroidery
A Three to Four Day Class exploring the Basics for fine hand embroidery. The class will focus upon foundational stitches necessary for development into more intermediate and advanced stitching. The class will focus upon particular stitches used in fine hand embroidered motifs. This will be fundamental for accomplishing beautiful church hand embroidery..

Whitework Embroidery
A four day class in whitework embroidery. This is key to beautiful embroidered altar linens found in church embroidery. The class will focus upon particular stitches and perfecting techniques used to embellish altar cloths and communion linens. We will also explore the transferring of motifs onto fine fabric for perfect results

Sacred Crosses in Embroidery
A 2-4 Day Class for fine hand embroidered Sacred Crosses. You will be using the basics and whitework to accomplish this. We will explore the finer techniques in mastering this style of hand embroidery especially focusing upon the embroidery found on altar linens.​ A sampler is provided with 3 traditional cross motifs in 3 sizes to explore and practice in our the sessions.

Sacred Monograms in Embroidery
A 2-4 Day Class for fine hand embroidered Sacred Monograms. You will be using the basics and whitework to accomplish this. We will explore the finer techniques in mastering this style of hand embroidery especially focusing upon the embroidery found on altar linens.​ A sampler is provided with several traditional monogram motifs to explore and practice in our the sessions.

Hand Hemstitching
An Introduction to hand hemstitching fine linens..
A Two Day Class - Learn to pull threads, develop basic hemstitching techniques, and mitering perfect corners. In this class you will create a small fine linen handkerchief./purificator. By the end of the class, you will have accomplished beautiful classic techniques for making your own small linens.
