A 5 day course in Couture Embroidery
Eligible for Certificate of Completion
A 5 day course in Couture Embroidery Hand & Lock use the French art of Tambour Beading to embellish and decorate garments.. The technique was devised as an easy, fast and effective way to give instant glamour and texture to clothes or accessories
.Day 1: Construct a full size embroidery frame with silk fabric and practice the tambour stitch in all directions with beads, bugles and sequins on transparent fabric.
Day 2: Learn the method for transferring a supplied design onto Silk and apply techniques learned on day one to a design.
Day 3: Appliquéing fabrics to a design using the tambour stitch and incorporating with other materials such as ribbon.
Day 4: Start work on a new design on a more challenging non transparent fabric.
Day 5: Experimental day, your chance to work on anything you haven't learnt or really want to try. Can bring own project.
