Introduction to hand hemstitching and creating mitered corners.
A Two Day or Evening Class - Learn to pull threads, develop basic hemstitching techniques, and mitering perfect corners. In this class you will create a small fine linen handkerchief. By the end of the class, you will have accomplished beautiful classic techniques in fine linen making.

Basic Embroidery I-III

A Three Day Class exploring the Basics for fine hand embroidery The class will focus upon foundational stitches necessary for development into more intermediate and advanced stitching. The class will focus upon particular stitches used in fine hand embroidered motifs found in home decor linens & embellishment for clothing.
​
Day I: You will be furnished with a beginner's sampler - this sampler will enable you to practice, perfect the foundation stitches used in traditional hand embroidery.
​
Day II-III: A second sampler will be introduced with authentic motifs from the Art Nouveau period. These beautiful and flowing motifs will be used to continue exploring the stitch techniques from Day I and to perfect your foundational stitching while creating a beautiful sampler.
​
Basic Embroidery I-III will prepare you for more intermediate skills moving on into Whitework. Basic Embroidery and Whitework can be taken together - each class builds upon one another.

Whitework I-III

​ A Three day class in whitework embroidery. This is key to beautiful embroidered trousseau heirloom linens for the home. The class will focus upon particular stitches and perfecting techniques used to embellish fine linens and clothing. We will also explore the transferring of motifs onto fine fabric for perfect results
​
Day I: A beginner's sampler will be furnished to learn and perfect your basic whitework embroidery stitches. The class will focus upon learning the stitches and practicing them during the class session.
​
Day II-III: A Beautiful sampler will be furnished for perfecting and performing what you have learned on Day I. There are many motifs included on the sampler - all from authentic 19th century sources. These traditional motifs will provide an excellent learning experience and enabling you to accomplish beautiful authentic looking work.

Intro to Hand Monogramming
Monogram a Hand Towel

This class is a perfect opportunity to take your new basics skills to the next level. Our introduction class will teach you the basics for creating a beautiful hand monogrammed initial. A beginner's class in learning the art of fine trousseau hand monogramming. This ribbon monogram is from a Parisian embroidery house - this traditional motif dates back to early - mid 20th century.

Your own personalized hand towel will be provided. You will learn the basic and simplified stitching that will enable you to create your own personalized linens and other items. Please indicate your initial preference.

Wheat & Cross Embroidery
Pall & Corporal Communion Set Workshop

5 Day Workshop

A 5 Day workshop embroidering a beautiful communion set featuring an Irish linen pall and corporal, ready to be hand embroidered. The Wheat and Cross motif is a traditional liturgical design from the late 1880s. During the workshop we will teach you the stitches to create this beautiful set. Embroidery Kit with All Materials Are Included.
Embroidery techniques typically used in church linens will be used. Techniques in cording and satin stitches, with foundation work in short & long, split stitching. During the workshop, you will complete both the pall, and the corporal.
Basic Embroidery Skills are required - Whitework would be helpful
We will also be offering for purchase additional communion linen sets ready for embroidery. Kits will include a pall, plexi board, corporal, purificator, and lavabo towel.
