Introduction to Boutis
A sophisticated, stylish and easy to master needle art practiced in the South of France since the 17th Century. In this three day class, you will learn the basics of this elegant quilting style.
Day II-III All materials will be provided as you learn the fabric most suitable for this white on white technique. You will learn cutting, and assembling of 2 layers of fabric that will then be quilted together using the proper stitching. A layer of stuffing is sandwiched into the two cloths to create the Boutis look.
Total Class Hours: 15 Hours of Instruction with class materials provided. Some basic embroidery skills helpful

Level II
9 am - 3 pm
The term provencial quilting, also know as Boutis, refers to wholecloth quilts created using the French technique of sandwiching two layers of cloth with stuffing material. These gorgeous quilts are traditionally made in the South of France.
Day I - IV Cutting, layout, and stitch techniques will be taught in the authentic tradition.
You will master the quilting processes, and completing a small fashionable bag. You will be well on your way to developing your skills to manage small quilts and beautiful pillows.
Total Class Hours: 20 Hours of Instruction with class materials provided.
Some hand quilting, hand sewing, some machine work will be done during the class.
All materials provided.
